13-2 Saturday June 2nd

What can I say to sum up such a wonderful season. You hear of so many horror stories involving Little League parents these days that I feel overly blessed to be associated with such fine people. I want to sincerly thank all of you for everything you did this year. All the miles logged caring these wonderful boys to practices and games. All the time spent scrubbing uniforms at the kitchen sink. All this time you have sacrificed is a golden investment in these boys lives. As I think back to my Little League days, all I can do is smile about all of the fond memories. Now as parents we are giving ours boys those same wonderful memories to carry with them for a lifetime. I hope as a coach I am adding to these wonderful kids experience and not taking away in any form.

I would like to take some time to thank some individuals in particular. I want to thank all of the coaches. Without your dedication and sacrifice of your free time this season would not have developed so successfully. Thanks Tony, Phillip, Keith and Donny. I would like to thank Tina Webb for keeping our scorebook all year. I gave her a hard time on a couple of occasions, but it was all in good fun. She did a great job and I want her to know she is greatly appreciated. I want to thank Jeffrey and Rhonda Stone as well as Rhonda's parents for sponsoring our team party. It was a big success. We really missed Matthew, Aaron and Jaret. They couldn't make it because of previous engagements. Jeffrey, Rhonda, Tammy and several others did a great job cooking our hot dogs while I attempted to drown all of the players. Actually they almost drown me. I told them that for every win they got this season they could put me under. So they did just that 13 times. They actually cheated a little and kept going past 13 to 14 or 15. I couldn't keep up due to all of the water in my mouth nose and lungs. I also found out that these kids need some finger nails cut. It was a really fun time. I also want to thank my wife Tammy and daughter Brianna for putting up with Mikey and me all season. We always feel we are entitled to special treatment during baseball season, especially game days. Tammy I apologize for not keeping the grass cut, the trash taken out, the basement cleaned out, etc., etc. etc. I know Mikey is sorry for all of the furniture and pretties that he broke or damaged while re-living all of the big plays from every game. (All you moms insert your sons name in place of Mikey's. Assistant Coaches Wives insert your name in place of Tammy's and pretend it is from your husband).

I especially want to thank all of these wonderful boys. Every one of them added fun and enjoyment to this season. I really believe some of them learned a little more about baseball this year. And I know I learned more about life just being around them all. I meant what I said at the team party that I am ready right now to play this season over and over again and again. Last and certainly not least, I want to thank my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Most of all because he suffered and died for our sins then rose again so we can have eternal life. Also, for his Love, Mercy and Protection. For watching over Tyler when he got hit in the head in the pre-season then through his appendix surgery and recovery. For watching over Nicholas when he got hit in the chest crossing home plate. For watching over Aaron when he got hit in the head during pre-game warm-ups. For watching over Colby's Grandmother when she got hit in the head by a foul ball during a game. For every ball that was hit at our boys and by our boys that could have hit and injured someone but didn't. For watching over all the boys during each and every practice and game. For safe trips to and from all of the ball parks. Thank you God. And lastly, for holding the rain and winds back so we could have our team party. You see all the way to the party I was praying "Father I know you can control the weather, so I am asking please hold it off this time." He did just that. From the big things in our lives through to the little things, God is an Awesome God. God is good, all the time. God Bless You All. Please keep in touch.
